We've all been around the block when it comes to eating french fries. Curly fries, waffle fries, steak fries, shoestring fries, battered fries, wedges and let's not get started talking about the many, many different toppings that can be added on. There are so many types. I'd like to argue that french fries are a popular food choice because they taste different depending on where and when you get them.
Fast-food french fries have been ranked previously, but these websites include many restaurants that aren't available to us in little Cedar City, Utah. In my opinion, little Ma and Pa restaurants like the Brick House, Hermies, and All-American diner deserve spots when discussing local french fry quality.
After gathering painstaking (and dare I say, delicious) research, the top ten places to find delicious french fries in Cedar City are listed below:
10. Arby's
Two words: Curly Fries. They're not for everybody, for example my family is not a fan. BUT if you're in the mood for crispy fries-Arby's is the way to go.
9. Denny's
Natural wavy cut or seasoned. You can't go wrong. The only problem with these fries is that they require ketchup and sometimes the bottle on your table is empty. Or maybe that's just true of the Cedar City Denny's.
8. Chick-fil-A

Waffles are a girl's best friend-especially when they made of potatoes.
These fries get extra points for being gluten free. You'd think that potatoes fried in oil wouldn't have any gluten involved, but those of you who are gluten-free are familiar with the struggle.
Also - Chick-fil-A sauce, Polynesian sauce, Buffalo sauce - the options are endless.
7. Wendy's

Sea salty goodness, Wendy's french fries are a perfect balance between a crisp french fry and delicious goodness.
BUT the best part about Wendy's french fries is "the dip". If anyone reading this has not dipped their french fries in a Frosty, put on your shoes, walk out the door and go buy yourself a value sized fry with a frosty and try it. It'll change your life.
6. All American Diner
Local favorite place with access to fry sauce. What more could you ask for? They also have the option of regular or curly fries. If you like crispy fries, go for the curly fries. You won't regret it.
5. McDonald's

There is something to be said about a french fry that doesn't require any sauce, topping, or beverage paired with it. McDonald's french fries are extraordinarily thin and salty, which is a perfect combination for a stand-alone french fry.
4. Tacos El Jefe - Carne Asada Fries
Tacos in a bowl. Not only that but these are street tacos in a bowl-served over french fries. It's like nachos but with taco toppings and fries instead of chips. This is a must-have. Don't miss out.
3. Charlie's - Frychos
Again-Nachos but with fries instead of chips. And this time, you have Texas pit-smoked meat smothered on the top instead of Mexican food. A half-order is also extremely filling and inexpensive. A full order is definitely something to be shared with friends.
2. Hermie's Drive In
Battered fries. Cheap and quick. Hometown feeling. This is at the number two spot because they simply taste better than the others and they're simple french fry. Also they get bonus points for having fry sauce.
1. Brick House
Fresh cut french fries with fry sauce. Could you ask for anything better?

Brick House was voted Best in State for 2014, 2015, and 2017.
The only word I can think of to describe their fries is the word savory. I literally go there to get a to-go fry from there sometimes when I need something real quick. They fill a large clam-shell with fries and it only costs $2.07. They took this by a landslide when it comes to analyzing price, taste, and quality.
